Strong earthquake shakes coast of Ecuador; no phrase on harm

QUITO, Ecuador — A powerful earthquake shook Ecuador on Saturday, however there was no quick phrase on harm or accidents.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 within the nation’s coastal Guayas area. It was centered about 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Guayaquil, Ecuador’s second-largest metropolis.
